Upon first look at this picture, you might think…this is a decent looking guy, but I’m smarter than that. For the past year, I have seen this picture passed off as T-Pain, and I’m putting my foot down. I don’t buy it anymore!! Jive records, you can’t trick me like that. I know what I saw when I saw this man in person. I don’t know who this guy in the picture is, but trying to pass him off as T-Pain is not going to go over well with fans. Now I don’t want to fully blame the artist or the record label here, because it could be a bunch of irresponsible internet bloggers and journalists not doing their research. I’ve learned about the art of picture taking and how one must angle their head a certain way to get the best results, but this is more than just something like Mariah being photographed from one side of her face. This, my children, is another person. It is a skinny, light-skinned (okay maybe brown) person. No, it is. Doesn’t anyone agree with me or am I blind? Who is this guy?

Hands down is MC Serch Vs. Khia. Or I guess I could say Khia Vs. MC Serch, cuz she started it right? Now, if anyone missed Khia’s rendition of “R-E-S-P-E” on VH1′s Miss Rap Supreme, then please do yourself a favor and try to watch it somehow. It is, by far, the most entertaining rap verse I’ve ever seen (understand that by “entertaining,” I do not mean good). Then, the next week, she gets kicked off the show. Then, she uploads a youtube video explaining herself. Then Serch writes a 3000 word (sarcasm again) blog answering her back on his myspace page. I love it. And yes, this is what this industry has come to. Sorry, what else would you like me to write about. Shit is boring.

Leave it to 50 Cent to take the opposite POV than everyone else. While the industry is busy trying to clean up its act and take some responsibility for the images of women that are being put out there, 50 is making it clear that the sexy music videos that have come under fire are good because they “shot females in the videos…like they were stars.” Yup, haha. There’s more. In a blog we posted today, he said, “Now, you can’t be allowed to create that type of [sexy] music video, at this point, because if you show the shot when you come up from her leg, they don’t want the shot that doesn’t have her head in it, at any point. So you gotta shoot from a certain space where you showing her whole body. You can’t do that dramatic thing that makes that portion of the shot sexy.”

50 has a way with words, right?

Anyway, yeah 50. We would like to see her face too, because quite frankly, it means that there is more to a woman than just her body parts. But no, we don’t want to compromise the “art” of the video, so how about we just continue to view women with heads instead of women with no heads…wouldn’t that be a nice compromise?
